Official hunt rules

Version 2026-10-21.2

THE FORT LIST HALLOWEEN HUNT 2026: OFFICIAL RULES (version 2026-10-21.2) NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. Buying something does not improve your chances. Void where prohibited. 1. Organizer The Hunt is run by True Eira LLC, a Colorado limited liability company, doing business as The Fort List (the "Organizer"). Local businesses host the stops and give the prizes. Apple is not a sponsor of this event and is not involved in it in any way. The Hunt is not sponsored, endorsed or run by Instagram, Facebook or Meta. 2. When From Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at 6 a.m. until midnight at the end of Saturday, October 31, 2026, Mountain Time. Each stop's own hours are on the map; check in while the stop is open. A strip taken before the end still counts if it checks in within 2 hours. Halloween round: until then is the warm-up. From midnight on Saturday, October 31, 2026 until the end, every stop opens once more at 10 times its points. Earlier check-ins, photos and points stay yours. 3. Who can play People 18 or older who are in Fort Collins, Colorado, when they check in. Stops marked 21+ are for people 21 or older, with ID. Anyone under 18 plays with a parent or guardian, who holds the passport and accepts any prize for them. Employees of the Organizer and their households may play but cannot win. 4. How to play Join free on The Fort List to get a passport code. Check in at a stop by scanning the stop's own QR and choosing a photo strip or a stamp (a stamp marks the stop off without a photo; both count the same), by having the business scan your passport, or with a stamped paper passport handed to the Organizer before the Hunt ends. A check-in from the stop's QR counts once per stop with or without your phone's location. With your phone's location on, a check-in that shows you at the business earns 2 extra points, not multiplied in the Halloween round. Location is checked once, at that moment, and the check-in keeps only whether you were there. A check-in whose location shows you away from the business does not count, and a check-in without location that comes sooner after your previous stop than the distance allows is held for the Organizer to review. Pinning a strip on your own map is a separate choice. One check-in per stop per person, plus one more per stop in the Halloween round. 5. Points and how the hunt gifts are given Each stop's points are shown on the map; a photo-booth bonus counts once per stop and is not multiplied. An approved costume entry earns 5 participation points once per person per round (50 in the Halloween round), however many photos you enter; it is pending until the Organizer approves it and is never a check-in. Taking back your only approved entry of a round removes its points. When the Hunt ends, players are ranked by all their points from both rounds, costume participation points included. The hunt gifts are given by these rules: 1. Gifts are ranked by their stated retail value, highest first. Section 7 lists them in that order. 2. Gifts of equal value go alphabetically by business name, then gift name. 3. The player with the most points gets the first gift, the next player the next gift, and so on until the gifts run out. 4. A tie in points goes to whoever reached that total first. 5. To win a hunt gift, a player needs at least one verified stop check-in. Joining alone does not win. 6. If there are fewer eligible players than gifts, the gifts left over go back to the businesses that gave them. Nobody wins by default, and there is no random draw. 7. Winners are told the morning after the Hunt ends (Sunday, November 1, 2026), on their Fort List account and by email if they gave one. A winner has 7 days, until Sunday, November 8, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time, to claim the gift at the business giving it by showing their passport code. 8. A winner may turn a gift down. A gift turned down or not claimed in time passes to the next-highest eligible player who has not already won a gift, who then has 7 days to claim it. A gift still unclaimed after Sunday, November 22, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time goes back to the business that gave it. 21+ gifts: gifts of alcohol, cannabis or anything else the law limits to people 21 or older are listed separately in section 7 and given by the same eight rules, in their own order, among players who have confirmed on The Fort List that they are 21 or older: the highest such score gets the first 21+ gift, the next the next, and so on. The 21+ list is separate, so a player can win one hunt gift and one 21+ gift, and in rule 8 "a gift" means a 21+ gift. To claim a 21+ gift the winner shows government-issued photo ID proving they are 21 or older; a winner who cannot is treated as turning it down, and it passes on as rule 8 says. The ranking is posted on the hunt page the morning after the Hunt ends. Winners are not chosen at random. Points have no cash value. 6. The costume contest At a 21+ stop, every strip taken at the stop's booth is entered for private judging. At every other stop, a strip is entered only if someone in it, or the parent or guardian of anyone in it under 18, ticks the entry box on the strip's page. Winners are not chosen at random: the Organizer and the business giving each prize judge the entries at that business's stop on creativity, craft and Halloween spirit. Judges' decisions are final. A business that gives a costume prize names it at its stop. Points never decide a costume prize, and a costume prize adds no points. 7. Prizes The hunt gifts, in order of value (each at the retail value the business giving it stated): 1. Alyth Active: Alyth Active Gift Card ($50) 2. Golden Poppy Herbal Apothecary: $30 Gift Card ($30) 3. Cherry on Top Bookshop: Mini Canvas Tote ($25) 4. Illegal Pete's: Gift card ($25) 5 to 7. Vatos Tacos + Tequila: $10 gift card ($10 each, one each to 3 players) The 21+ gifts, in order of value (21 or older, photo ID at pickup): - None yet. Any 21+ gift is listed here once the business confirms it. Each prize is given and honored by the business named, on its own terms. Hunt gifts are claimed as section 5 says. The winner of any other prize is contacted within 3 days and must claim by December 31, 2026; an unclaimed prize of that kind is forfeited. No cash value and no substitutes, except that a business may replace an unavailable prize with one of equal or greater value. Alcohol and cannabis are only ever 21+ gifts, handed over by the business as Colorado law allows. Winners pay any taxes. 8. Your photos Joining the Hunt gives nobody the right to publish or share your photos. Every such use is your choice, one photo at a time, and you can take it back. - Booth strips. On a stop's strip page you choose "Check in & share" or "Just check in". "Check in & share" checks you in and lets that stop and The Fort List share the strip in The Fort List's hunt recap, on social media and in Ice Cream Magazine, with the stop's name; you confirm everyone in it is 18 or older. "Just check in" checks you in and nobody may share the strip. If anyone in it is under 18, choose "Just check in". - Photos you upload to The Fort List. The upload asks three separate questions (enter the contest, show it in the public gallery, let the business reuse it), and only what you choose applies. - Contest entries are judged privately. An entry is shown on The Fort List's public contest page only if you chose that, which is offered only at 21+ stops. - Taking it back. Tap "Take it back" on the strip's page, or write to privacy@keepbooth.com. New use stops right away, and the Organizer takes the photo down from its own pages and posts within 7 days. A magazine already printed cannot be recalled. By sharing a photo, you confirm everyone in it agreed to be in it. 9. Privacy We use what you give us only to run the Hunt: your passport, your check-ins, whether your phone was at the business when you checked in, and a way to reach you if you win. We send offers only if you say yes, and every one has an unsubscribe link. See thefortlist.com/privacy and keepbooth.com/privacy. 10. General Be a good guest: a business may refuse service or ask anyone to leave. Play at your own risk, and never drive impaired. The Organizer may disqualify cheating or unsafe play, and may change or cancel the Hunt if it cannot run fairly, posting any change here. Colorado law governs these rules. Amendments: 2026-10-15.1 (October 15, 2026) adds a Halloween round at 10x, adds 5 costume participation points per round, lets the best score choose a gift first; 2026-10-19.1 (October 19, 2026) gives the gifts in order of value to the highest scores, equal values alphabetically by business name; 2026-10-19.2 (October 19, 2026) says a gift needs at least one verified check-in, returns leftover gifts to the businesses, gives winners 7 days to claim at the business with their passport code, and passes a gift turned down or not claimed to the next eligible player without one; 2026-10-20.1 (October 20, 2026) corrects names (Illegal Petes to Illegal Pete's, Vatos Tacos & Tequila to Vatos Tacos + Tequila, The Lyric Cinema to The Lyric, "$10 gift certificate" to "$10 gift card", "Cherry on Top Trick or Treat Tote" to "Mini Canvas Tote") with no change to any gift's value or order, removes an unconfirmed 21+ mark from The Elizabeth Hotel, takes Local Business Factory off the stop list (no check-ins there); 2026-10-21.1 (October 21, 2026) counts a stamp or strip from a stop's own QR without your phone's location, once per stop, for the stop's base points; turning location on earns 2 extra points when it shows you at the business; a location away from the business still does not count; 2026-10-21.2 (October 21, 2026) adds a separate 21+ gift list, given by the same rules among players who confirm they are 21 or older, with photo ID at pickup; alcohol and cannabis are only ever 21+ gifts.
